McMaster Egg Counting Chamber The McMaster technique uses a counting chamber which enables a known volume of fecal suspension (2 x 0.15 ml) to be examined microscopically. If the suspension is prepared using a precisely weighed aliquot of fecal material and a known volume of flotation solution, the number of eggs per gram (EPG) can be calculated. This provides an estimate of worm burden. Click for detailed procedure .This latest version features a green counting grid for enhanced visibility.
